This year, the mega event has been shifted to one of the largest international hub of Indian film and music fans - the US - in order to promote and honour Indian musical talent on an even larger platform.
To be hosted at Oakland Arena in Oakland, California, on 24 September the music awards are also of much significance because Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan will share the stage for the first time at this year's event.
Rani Mukherjee will join the two Khans for the performance, along with music composer Shankar Mahadevan and Pakistani pop singer Faakhir, show organiser PDM international's CEO and managing director Sanjay Lal here said.
The Sangeet Awards will be hosted by singer Shaan and actress-VJ Anusha Dandekar. Choreographer Shiamak Davar will choreograph the dance performances, Lal said and added more than 15,000 fans will get an opportunity to witness the mega event.
As many as 120 members of the film and music fraternity will come together to celebrate the richness of Indian music on a global platform, he said.
