Prachi Desai has been missing from the Bollywood scene for a while now. She was last seen in the film, I Me Aur Main, with John Abraham, and Policegiri with Sanjay Dutt, both of which turned out to be disappointments. Sometime back there was buzz that she would feature in Badtameez Dil with Emraan Hashmi and Kareena Kapoor, but the Dharma-Balaji joint venture never took off.

Now, after a considerable gap, the actress will feature in Sarthak Dasgupta's The Music Teacher with Nawazuddin Siddiqui as her co-star. Dasgupta earlier directed the 2007 film, The Great Indian Butterfly, which featured actors Sandhya Mridul, Aamir Basheer and Koel Puri.

Adds the source, `An official announcement will soon be made. The makers are keen on an unusual pairing - that's why they approached Nawaz and Prachi for the film. It is about a music teacher, and one of his past students who becomes a celebrity.`

When contacted, Prachi said, `Talks for the film are still on. Nawazuddin is one of my favourite actors. An actor par excellence, I have always wanted to work with him and this is a great opportunity.`

Nawazuddin will take music lessons for the film as he plays a vocalist in it. In 2013, Dasgupta had won the Sundance Mahindra Global Filmmaker award for his script of The Music Teacher. The film's script was later sent to the Sundance Script Writers' Lab in the same year.
