Most B-Town stars prefer natural beverages to beat the heat. Even as mercury continues to soar, we tell you how stars beat the heat with their favourite summer coolers...

B-Town stars prefer juices and organic drinks to quench their parched throats when the mercury soars. They prefer these drinks as they offer taste and good health. While on the sets, they ensure that their iceboxes are well-stocked; the idea is to keep themselves well hydrated during the long hours they spend on the sets - especially on outdoor shoots. Nutritious beverages such as aam panna, buttermilk, kokum sherbet, coconut water, lime water and khus sherbet are considered best bets.

Katrina Kaif is said to reach out for a glass of plain water whenever she finds herself thirsty. So does Kangna Ranaut, who always carries bottles of water with her and sometimes, coconut water as well.

Imran Khan too advocates the virtues of drinking water. He says, `I drink several litres of water every day.` The actor makes it a point to carry a bottle of water or coconut water with him. `When you drink water at regular intervals, you will see a vast difference in your health, especially the benefits it bestows upon one's hair, skin and nails.`

When he's at a shoot, Amitabh Bachchan feels that there is nothing better than cranberry juice as a thirst-quencher. Daughter-in-law Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan, on the other hand, would beat the heat with kokum sherbet specially prepared by her mom Vrinda.

Meanwhile, Kareena Kapoor vouches for the benefits of drinking fresh water. She also loves coconut water and lassis.

Priyanka Chopra swears by the powers of orange juice - rich in Vitamin C, it keeps the body hydrated - and she also makes it a point to have a lot of water. Her cousin, Parineeti Chopra, however likes to drink lime water. As she is currently following a weight-loss programme, lime water helps her stay in shape. Its antioxidant properties are a bonus - they help fight body infections.

Swara Bhaskar sticks to coconut water, especially when she's on the go. `I also like to have aam panna when I am not working. I usually have it during my leisure time; I love aam panna made by my mother or grandmother,` she says.

Sharman Joshi feels that lime water is more refreshing than other coolers. `It's light and it invigorates you instantly,` says the actor who keeps sipping it to beat the heat.

How the telly folk beat the heat...

Rashami Desai (Tapasya in 'Uttaran'): I drink lots of fresh lime water and barley water to beat the heat. It is a habit I inculcated since childhood. Lime water is easy to carry around and is also available everywhere.

Eijaz Khan: I get my intake of nutrients from an energy drink. I have at least five glasses of it as it helps me fight dehydration. I developed this habit while travelling abroad. I also drink lime water.

Shashank Vyas (Jagya in 'Balika Vadhu'): I have one litre of chaas every day. I got this habit from my grandfather and I have been drinking it regularly. I also consume sliced watermelon every day.

Vivian DSena (RK in 'Madhubala'): I consume a lot of watermelon, musk melon and oranges. I carry these fruits in my icebox. I also have a bowl of curd or lassi and sometimes chaas to beat the heat.

Tina Dutta (Meethi in 'Uttaran'): I drink lots and lots of water. It is the best way to keep yourself hydrated. Every two hours, I also have coconut water. It's the most unadulterated drink that one can find.

Angad Hasija (Alekh in 'Sapna Babul Ka...'): I drink fruit juices on a regular basis. I also carry fruits in my icebox. Whether I go for a meeting or a shoot, the icebox is always in my car. I don't share my coolers with anyone.
