Sanjay Leela Bhansali's feud with script writer Taabish Romani, who claimed that the director's 2010 debacle Guzaarish was based on his script, has ended-but with a dramatic twist, reports the Times of India.

Romani, is a member of the Film Writers'Association (FWA) and the association had backed the writer's original claim of plagiarism against Bhansali. In a letter dated April 21, 2011, The Disputes Settlement Committee (DSC) of FWA had informed the filmmaker of its decision that the Hrithik Roshan-Aishwarya Rai starrer was based on Romani's script Goonj Uthi Shehnai, registered with them on April 4, 2002. The DSC instructed Bhansali to pay Rs 10 lakh as remuneration for plagiarism.

But Bhansali did not do the needful and the FWA referred the matter to the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees) on May 9 for necessary action.

The dispute escalated and the case headed to the High Court as both the parties refused to retreat. Mirror has it that that after a few court sessions, both parties felt that 'someone needs to wave the white flag and finish the dispute'. The two had an out of court settlement and Romani was paid Rs 3 lakh. But instead of thanking FWA and paying up the 5 percent service charge to the association, Romani has gone missing in action. Romani who was represented by lawyers from the FWA, is untraceable despite numerous calls from the association.

Confirming the development, FWA CEO Kamlesh Pandey, said, "It's been two months now since this behind-the-scenes drama between Bhansali and Romani. But nobody seems to know where Romani is. We helped him so much but now he doesn't even take our calls. According to the rules, the cheque he received should have been in FWA's name. There is little we can do except continue our search for Romani."

Both Bhansali and his spokesperson remained unavailable for comment.
