"This is my first feature film and I hope that people would appreciate my role," Anara told.
"Anara" is expected to reach the theatres in a year from now, director B.R. Ishaara said.
"The cast and script are yet to be finalised," he added.
Ishaara will also pen the screenplay and dialogues for the film.
Shankar Bhan and K.K. Yadav will produce the film, music for which will be composed by the well-known duo from Assam - Jeetu-Tapan.

The Jammu and Kashmir High Court in February said that there was no case against Anara and termed her a "victim".
Anara has also featured in a Punjabi music video that was shot in Himachal Pradesh, besides acting in some television serials.
Bhan said that the film would depict the torture on Anara and there would be no sleazy scenes. "It will not be a C-grade movie at all," he promised.
On being asked the reason of casting Anara, he said: Who can portray the character better than Anara herself?"
Anara's mother Raj Rani who was present at the function said: "This is a good step to prove my daughter's innocence."
