Titled Mumbai Saga, the film will see Vivek playing a role of a cop, and according to a source it is inspired by senior police inspector and encounter specialist Vijay Salaskar who was gunned down while on duty during the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks. He was then the head of the Anti-Extortion Cell and in 2009 was posthumously honoured with the Ashoka Chakra.
To look the part Vivek will have to cut his hair very short and grow a moustache. The film goes on floors on August 15. The actor has exactly three months to prep up for the role to fit into the boots of the fearless cop. Vivek and Gupta worked together in Shootout At Lokhandwala but their relationship soured when Vivek pulled out of Gupta's Shootout At Wadala. The buzz was that he felt his role was not as meaty as John Abraham's.
However, the two broke the ice with a warm hug at a recent party. A source close to the film said: "Vivek and Gupta had met at Gupta's house to discuss the role. Vivek has loved his role. The modalities are being worked out." Vivek and Gupta remained unavailable for comment.
