Objecting to the title of Ekta Kapoor's film 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi', a Bhopal resident has filed a PIL against her production house

NL Mathur, a Bhopal resident, has filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) against Ekta Kapoor's production house, which is helming the film, 'Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi'. Mathur has apparently said that the film's title has hurt sentiments of the Kayastha community.

A source says, `In his petition, this person named NL Mathur, who is a resident of Bhopal, has said that the word Jhand is derogatory and it will hurt the sentiments of Mathurs from the Kayastha community. He has asked the filmmakers to change name of the film or remove the offensive word from the title.`

When contacted, Ekta asked us to speak to Tanuj Garg, CEO of her production house. Garg says, `No such PIL has been served to us till date. We have just heard about this in the media. The film title relates to normal and standard nomenclature used in the country. It has been approved and registered by our film association. We are surprised to hear about this.`
