TV actor Vishal Karwal, who essayed Vinay Sinha in "Bhagyavidhaata" and Gaurav Chaudhary in "Rishton Se Badi Pratha", says men are not given importance in daily soaps, therefore, he prefers doing action and adventure-based dramas.

Recently, he was seen in an episode of crime based show "Encounter" on Sony, hosted by actor Manoj Bajpayee.

"I prefer doing action and adventure. I get offers for daily soaps, but I deny them. I chose to do 'Encounter' because it had some work for me to do unlike TV soaps, in which a female is in the limelight and men not given much preference," Vishal told IANS over phone from Mumbai.

"I prefer doing roles, where as an actor, I am given an importance and have something to do," he added.

Vishal, who kicked off his career with reality TV shows like "MTV Roadies Season Four" and "Splitsvilla", even played Lord Krishna in "Dwarkadheedh - Bhagwan Shree Krishna" and says his stint with the mythological show was the most satisfying.

"It took me some time to get hold of Lord Krishna's character, but I enjoyed playing Krishna the most because I was a performer there. I used to shoot for 12 hours a day," he said.

Talking about preparations, he said: "I didn't go through mythological books much, but I went on my sets every day. I have seen a lot of Indian mythological shows during my childhood."

He made his debut in films with Punjabi movie "Aappan Pher Milange" (2012) and will now be seen in Vikram Bhatt's next.

Now his main focus is movies.

"I'll be seen in Vikram Bhatt's "1920 London". It is slated for a release in July this year. My idea now is to do just films. I want to be a part of an established and renowned production house, since they also have good marketing strategies. I don't prefer low budget films. I have declined two Bollywood films because they didn't belong to a renowned production house," said the actor.

When asked about reality shows, the actor, who was seen in "Big Boss Season 6", said that he wants to be part of reality shows that incorporate adventure.

"I'm scared of exhibiting my reality on reality TV shows. I'd love to go for shows like 'Fear Factor' since it includes adventure," said Vishal.
