Sony ties up with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for first Hindi film
Sony pictures entertainment, a subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America (SCA) has tied up well-known film director Sanjay Leela Bhansali to co-produce Sony's first Hindi
film `saawariya'.
Chairman and Chief executive officer of SPE Michael Lynton in a statement issued here has said "we at Sony pictures recognize the potential and importance of Indian
market and welcome the opportunity to team up with the film industry in India."
On a tie up with Bhansali, Lynton said, "Sanjay Leela Bhansali's body of work has been in a class of its own". His films `Khamoshi' to `Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam', `Devdas'
and most recent film `Black' have epitomised sensitivity and embodied visual splendour.
"As the market for Indian cinema continues to grow internationally, SPE's vast global network will allow Indian film producers to showcase their work outside the home
market and acquire greater exposure for their films", the SPE Chief said.
