He set the screen on fire with his very first performance in the film Page 3 but disappeared from the film circuit after its stupendous success.

"It's not that I did not want to do films after Page 3," says Jai Kalra. "I had a few personal problems to sort out. I listened to a few script narrations and it took me some time to decide. I got a few offers too but nothing excited me. I want to do meaningful roles and so I have become very selective about them. I don't want to be caught in an image trap," he says.

His next film Woh Aadmi Bahut Kuch Janta Hai is being produced by Ricky and directed by Vinod Raman. The film will start rolling in November.

"I play the role of a crime journalist who is a master in crime psychology. The film has a Victorian feel to it and I am looking forward to do it," Jai adds.

The one thing that he is really excited about is that he will be sharing the screen with his childhood hero Jackie Shroff. "He is my childhood idol. I am a big fan of his," he says.
