Nitin Kakkar's National Award-winning film "Filmistaan" has no big names, but showed a major growth by earning over Rs.1 crore on the second day of its release, while action titan Akshay Kumar's "Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" maintained its opening day box office figure i.e over Rs.12 crore.

"Filmistaan" that explores India-Pakistan relationship with comic elements didn't get an overwhelming opening, but on the second day the business doubled.

The movie featuring Sharib Hashmi and Inaamulhaq has also been supported by celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan and Vidhu Vinod Chopra.


A.R. Murugadoss' second Hindi directorial "Holiday: A Soldier Is Never Off Duty" also released June 6 and the actioner has been labelled as `lovely entertainer` by trade analyst Komal Nahta.

The film also stars Sonakshi Sinha, who showed her sporty side in the movie.
