Mention him winning the sexiest Lips Award and Shahid Kapur goes red in the face. "I was
embarrassed," he says continuing, "but at the same time it was flattering."
Shahid seems
to be in news constantly whether it's his award, his film or his love life. About Kareena, Shahid says,
"We are doing Boney Kapoor's Milenge Milenge together."
After a year-long gap the chocolate boy is now looking forward to his next release Deewane Huye
Pagal. "I did miss a few films for a year but this film is worth the wait," he says. "My role is of a
typical boy-next-door who is in love. This is the first time I am doing a comedy film with a director
like Vikram Bhatt."
"I'm very excited about the Sooraj Barjatya film as well. It is a love story on the lines of his first film
Maine Pyar Kiya. It's not like I have replaced Salman or something. When I read the script, I realised
that it needed a very young hero, someone maybe in his early twenties or so, and that's why he
couldn't sign Salman for this particular role."
Currently, the actor is shooting John Matthew Mathan's Shikhar.
"It deals with two men
who have big dreams. It's a human drama. I have these big banner films. For the moment I feel
serene and I am ambitious but happy with whatever I have. It's safer not to think of the number one
position at the moment. It's unimportant in the sense every artiste has his own journey. I am still
finding benchmarks for myself," he adds.
