Almost two weeks after Bollywood actress Preity Zinta filed her complaint, the Marine Drive police have managed to record her statement regarding the molestation case that she registered against her former boyfriend and industrialist Ness Wadia.
On Tuesday, Preity also met Crime Branch officials in connection with the threat calls received by Wadia's secretaries, allegedly from gangster Ravi Pujari.
In addition, the actress, accompanied by her lawyer, went to Wankhede stadium to recount the day of the incident to the police. Officials at the Marine Drive police station had been waiting long for the actress to record her supplementary statement, after she left for Los Angeles, USA, soon after filing the complaint.
Investigators of the case are trying to gather information about the people who witnessed the incident on May 30, and what exactly happened at Garware pavilion between the duo.
Reaching Wankhede
Around 6.40 pm, the actress arrived at the stadium and was soon surrounded by the media and photographers, despite the officials providing extra cops for crowd management. Preity's statement was recorded at the BCCI office of the stadium, and lasted for more than one-and-a-half hours.
According to sources, Preity has alleged that the first incident of abuse from Wadia was when he abused her team, to which she intervened, near Garware pavilion. Later, Ness followed her to her seat, screaming, when an American stepped in, asking him to back off. Finally, when she went to congratulate her team on the ground, Ness abused her again.
Along with her statement, Preity has also provided names of around 15 eyewitnesses for the case, whose statements the police will soon record.
`We have recorded her statement, and will now take statements of people she has named, to strengthen the case,` informed Krishna Prakash, additional commissioner of police, south region.
