A leading portal has just ended a fortnight-long contest on the Hindi film "Sarkar" which fetched 15 winners Rs 100,000 each.

In the contest called "Pepsi Internet Ka Sarkar", held between Oct 27 and Nov 10, participants were asked questions based on the video clip of the movie on the portal, according to George Zacharias, president and chief operating officer of Sify Limited.

"The tremendous response from all parts of the country shows how quickly broadband is permeating our lives," he said.

Sahara chief executive officer Shantonu Aditya gave away prizes to the winners of the contest sponsored by Pepsi, Motorola, Zicom and Fab India.
