Among the three major sleuth films that were announced last year, it is Vidya Balan's 'Bobby Jasoos' that is being presented to the audience first and the actress is glad to be leading the race to the theatres.

The other two films are Dibakar Banerjee's 'Byomkesh Bakshi', a period take on the popular detective hero from Bengali fiction and Ranbir Kapoor starrer- 'Jagga Jasoss', which is being directed by Anurag Basu.

"I am so thrilled that we are coming first... I am sure the other films will be different and they are all being made by wonderful directors and have amazing actors in it. But Bobby is the only female detective you know," Vidya said in an interview. In 'Bobby Jasoos', the 36-year-old actress plays a girl who wants to be the best detective in Hyderabad. Vidya says in her school and college day she used to do her fair share of spying when it came to matters of love.

"The spying bug is in everyone. As human beings we want to know about things that other's don't want to reveal. In school and college, I used to spy for friends or myself in order to get all information about a person I had a crush on or if a friend of mine liked someone," she said.

The actress says one major effect that this film has had on her is that she has probably become more shrewd and street smart. "I have become very 'shatir' after this film, may be. It was interesting to see how a detective approaches a simple thing like finding out an address. Unlike Sherlock Holmes, Byomkesh or Karamchand, Bobby's approach is simple... she is very real, like anyone of us," she said.

'Bobby Jasoos', which hits theatres this Friday, also stars 'Fukrey' fame actor Ali Fazal and has been directed Samar Shaikh. The film has been produced by Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha and Vidya says she loved working with young producers. "I was treated like a baby by Sahil, Dia and Samar.

I was made to feel very special and not just me I think everyone in the film has been taken very good care of," she said. Back in April, after Vidya backed out of Sujoy Ghosh's next film 'Durga Rani Singh' and cancelled her appearance at an awards show in the US in the very last minute, there were rumours that the actress was pregnant. Vidya had publicly denied such reports and she says she was irritated by such false stories about her personal life.

"The most difficult part of being a celebrity is invasion of privacy. I love people, I am very open but there are things that are very personal. When people cross that line I think that is the only time I get irritated, not upset. I am happy to talk about anything but even then people choose to fabricate things," she said.

Vidya's last two films- 'Ghanchakkar' and 'Shaadi Ke Side-Effects', failed to create magic at the box office but the actress is not bothered about 'Bobby Jasoos', as she feels different films have different fate. "It is very disheartening to see that something on which you worked on so much does not do well.

But I do not worry about 'Bobby' just because my last two films didn't do well. It's a different film and we have done whatever was humanly possible. We can just hope for the best," she said.
