'Aashiqui 2' star Shraddha Kapoor may be basking in the glory of her recent success 'Ek Villain' but like they say success comes with a price! Shraddha, known for her goody-two-shoes image shocked her fans when news of her media ban thanks to the ire of the paparazzi made its way. While daddy dearest Shakti Kapoor came to his daughter's defense, his not-so-clean image with respect to the media got him no brownie points. However, Shraddha isn't the first celebrity from her family to have been involved in a controversy. We take a look at the 'other' Kapoor's of the film industry and how they were involved in some controversy or the other.

Shraddha Kapoor- Believe it or not but the shy and sweet Shraddha Kapoor is currently facing a media ban because of her unwillingness to pose for the paparazzi. Shraddha has been turning her face away from the photographers too many times and has finally invited a ban from the community. According to a news report in Mumbai Mirror dated July 4, 2014, it all started when she refused to look up on her way out of the airport and then kept the lensmen hanging around on the sets of a reality TV show where she was making an appearance. An assistant informed the gathered photographers that they will have to wait until the shoot is over, which meant waiting for a couple of hours. The stance continued as she had refused to pose for them at two other events as well. Let's see how long will the photographers' ban for Shraddha last since she is currently busy with post release promotions of 'Ek Villain' and the music launch of her upcoming film 'Haider' and promotions related to the film will soon start.

Shakti Kapoor- Shakti Kapoor was caught in a controversy during a time when sting operations were the latest trend atleast in media circles. India TV did an I-spy with the actor in 2005 when a female journalist posed as an upcoming Bollywood starlet and 'trapped' Shakti into propositioning the correspondent and asking her for sexual favours. A huge controversy and 'breaking news' stories were formulated around that. While debates around violating someone's privacy were doing the rounds, Shakti Kapoor in the end found no escaping as he got entangled in the same.

Apart from being caught on tape for propositioning the 'starlet', Shakti received more flak for blurting out big names that made the proceedings messier for him. According to a report in India Today dated March 28, 2005; Shakti in the sting claimed that everyone has to sleep with the big guys "once". Apparently in the infamous sting operation Shakti Kapoor told the undercover reporter that a top actress had succumbed to the 'casting couch' with Subhash Ghai to bag a role. This didn't go down well with the the film industry and according to a report in Rediff.com dated March 16, 2005, the industry then showed Shakti its fangs and Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Amit Khanna on behalf of the Film and TV Producers' Guild at that time asked its members not to work with Shakti Kapoor.

However, this sting operation by India TV wasn't the first time Shakti Kapoor's name was bounced around as the bad guy. He was caught on MTV Bakra in February, 2005 apparently touching the interviewer inappropriately. While that issue didn't get the mileage that his sting operation received. Post Shakti Kapoor's sting operation actors and directors spoke against Shakti Kapoor and his apparent 'indecent behaviour'. Subhash Ghai who Shakti claimed was involved in the casting couch syndrome in a TOI report dated March 14, 2005 said "These kinds of insane people with such shameful acts, do survive in every segment of the society including cinema". In the same news report actress Preity Zinta lashes out at Shakti Kapoor and said "He is truly a real life villain and deserves to be banned from our film industry as there is no place for him here." (sic). In a Rediff.com report director Karan Johar also expressed his displeasure with Shakti Kapoor apparently because Shakti included Karan's father Yash Johar (who had passed away some months before the sting) and actress Preity Zinta's name in the sting operation. According to the Rediff.com report dated March 16, 2014 "Let us not dignify the incoherent ramblings of a pathetic man with a reaction".

Siddhant Kapoor- Shakti Kapoor and his daughter Shraddha aren't the only ones in their family who have a controversy tailing behind them. Shakti Kapoor's son Siddhant Kapoor who made his Bollywood debut with 'Shootout At Wadala' sometime back got into the limelight after that. Siddhant was detained along with 240 youths at a rave party in Mumbai in 2008. Although Siddhant and others were released in the afternoon after medical examination and after their blood samples were collected and sent for a forensic analysis. The Anti-Narcotics Cell of the Mumbai police raided the rave party at the Mumbai 72 Degrees East club, in the city's posh Juhu area and detained the young men and women apart from seizing a large quantity of drugs. According to news reports, the police arrested eight drug peddlers from the party. The police recovered 104 tablets of ecstasy, 540 drops of ecstasy and other drugs like charas and cocaine, collectively valued at Rs.1 million. Siddhant, who was a disc jockey before he tried his hand at acting had also assisted director Priyadarshan before. However, the actor says he was let go off by the police as his tests were negative.
