Katrina Kaif is currently a top notch actress working with big names in the industry and also lapping up major projects. Katrina has worked with all the three Khans in the industry and even entered the 500 crore club with the success of Dhoom 3. She has given several hits in her career and is giving other actresses a run for their money, but at the same time has faced troubling times in her personal life.

Before Katrina Kaif was linked to Ranbir Kapoor, the actress was reportedly close to Salman Khan. And a few years back, a rather ugly incident was reported about them. According to a report in Hindustan Times, the cover story in CineBlitz's issue stated that Salman Khan had got angry at Kat for wearing a figure-hugging, cleavage-revealing dress, and what followed was a string of loud abuses and a blow to Kat from a stick that was lying closeby. And this specific incident was allegedly said to have caused a breakup between their rumoured relationship. Also it was reported in The Times of India that Salman had slapped her at a coffee shop in 2008, but she later denied it.

While in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, she voiced her opinion about men, she said, "All my life I have judged my worth by how much I have been loved by a man. It's so with a lot of women, that their self-esteem is measured by how much they are loved by a man, their partner, their boyfriend or may be their husband. In my case, it may be because I grew up without my father. But now that I am more mature and not eighteen any more, I have learnt to overcome that and understand that I have my own destiny and life."

Katrina Kaif's birthday in 2008 was a major cause of controversy then. The actress was allegedly dating Salman Khan at that time, and the party hosted in Bandra had most of Bollywood in attendance. However the evening ended in a rather ugly manner with Salman and Shah Rukh ending up in a spat. According to reports, Salman and Shah Rukh had an exchange of comments which became serious later. Gauri Khan, Karan Johar, Aamir Khan and Katrina Kaif had to intervene to stop any further damage. Reportedly Katrina left the party looking visibly upset and post this spat both the Khans have not been on great terms with each other.
