It is being said that Pakistani actor Imran Abbas didn't make it to the trailer launch of his Bollywood debut, Creature 3D, on Wednesday evening due to visa issues. The actor was unable to do the necessary paperwork to make his way to Mumbai for the event.
Says a source, `Imran is making his Bollywood debut with this film, so he was keen to be present at the event along with co-star Bipasha Basu, director Vikram Bhatt and producer Bhushan Kumar. He was looking forward to sharing the dais with the unit, but at the last minute, he realised that he could not obtain a visa.`
Vikram Bhatt confirms the story. `Yes, I am given to understand that this is what happened. But it's not that he was not granted a visa. He had just left India and did not have enough time to reapply for one.`
It may be pointed out that Imran was in Mumbai last month to launch a channel that airs Pakistani serials in a bid to foster Indo-Pak friendship. He features in one of the shows, Mera Naseeb. Back then, the actor had flown down to attend the launch held in Mumbai.
Islamabad-born Imran has starred in several television soaps in Pakistan over the past decade.
Incidentally, he was slated to make his Bollywood debut in the Akshay Kumar-starrer Boss (2013), but was dropped due to contractual violations. The actor, on his part, had maintained that he chose to leave the film as the project was taking time and it was stopping him from taking up other offers.
