Bollywood's actors and actresses share their Eid-ul-Fitr plans and their favourite memories associated with this special day

The holy month of Ramadan has now drawn to an end and even as the festive spirit hangs thick in the air, Bollywood's actors and actresses too are gearing up for Eid-ul-Fitr.

For Huma Qureshi and brother Saqib Saleem, Eid is all about meeting their loved ones and binging on mutton biryani and korma

Hitlist got a few celebrities to share their celebratory plans; they also recollected their favourite Eid moments from over the years...

Eid memories:
Like every year, this time too I will celebrate Eid with my family. In my head, I associate Eid with an open house; this is when guests keep pouring in through the day. Even today, we don't have to invite anyone home on Eid, people just come over and celebrate it with us.

Every year during Eid, we follow the same routine. Dressed in a kurta pyjama, we'd all go to our grandfather's (Nasir Hussain) place. I don't have any one specific memory of the festival, but yes, we'd all look forward to the food spread. Aamir's mom is my grandaunt, so this year too, we will go to Ammi's place. This time, we are really excited because it is Imara's first Eid. This should be her real outing as well, because in our custom, we don't take the baby out of the house in the first 40 days.

We are a family of seven brothers - I remember my mother would get fabric in bulk and she'd have us wear outfits stitched from the same cloth. We would then go for namaz. After namaz, we would go and meet our relatives. Ours is a big family, so with all of us wearing similar clothes and posing together, we'd look like an army! At times, we would roam separately just so that people wouldn't notice our similar attire! This time around, I will be shooting on Eid but my family is here with me.

I am one of five siblings, and Eid is the most important festival for us. Every year, we'd fast throughout the month of Ramadan and I have been doing so since I was five years old. Being the youngest in the family, I remember collecting eidi from the elders. I think that eating sheer khurma is the best thing about Eid. Applying mehndi was also good fun, but it was a painful experience for my mother, as we would mess up the designs. This year, my sisters and brother have come down to my place for Eid, so it will be just like the old times.

I remember that every year on Eid, all male members of the family would go to this mosque in Nizamuddin to offer prayers at sharp 8:30 in the morning. We would then go to our relatives' place and binge on mutton biryani and korma. This time too, Huma (Qureshi, his sister) and I might end up going to Delhi on Eid as our parents have returned to the Capital. If I go, then I will definitely go pray at the same mosque along with my dad and cousins.

I will be spending the day with my family in my hometown, Lucknow. We will go to our ancestral house, which, interestingly, is located in an area where Umrao Jaan and other films have been shot extensively. I will also go to the chowk in Lucknow. As far as childhood memories are concerned, I remember I used to randomly visit people's homes on Eid. Ours is a big mohalla, so before people could realise who we were, we would greet them, eat the food and leave. It was so much fun. We would also gatecrash weddings in a similar fashion.
