Though an FIR has been registered against Bhardwaj under IPC sections 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), Moon laments that no action has been taken by the Mumbai Police.
`There seems to be no development in the case. Neither has the Police notified me of anything, nor has there been any intimation of any action on Siddharth Bhardwaj,` states the actress. `I am shocked that inspite of an FIR being registered, almost nothing has happened. Where am I expected to go for justice if the Police does not take action,` she asks.
The actress filed the complaint after an altercation following a car accident on the Lokhandwala main road. Moon alleged that Siddharth suddenly flared up and began shouting, using swear words and pushed her. In the FIR she mentioned that he even threatened her, `Main kaun hoon, tum jaanti nahin, main tumko maarunga.` (sic)
Moon's spokesperson Dale Bhagwagar denied rumours that the actress had approached Maneka Gandhi; the Union Cabinet Minister for Women and Child Development in the Narendra Modi government. However, he admitted that Moon was `harrowed and distressed` over the episode and may approach the National Commission for Woman (NCW) for help.
