"Hollywood? And me? No," she says, adding, "I was surprised when I heard the news. But believe me I have no commitment to do a Hollywood film. I wonder who circulates the rumours?"
To be directed by chartered accountant-turned-film professional Kolata Tom George, the new crossover venture is due to roll in New York on Jan 20. The rest of the cast includes names like Naseeruddin Shah, R. Madhavan and Shernaz Patel.
She says that there are many Bollywood films in her kitty and she is not thinking of signing a Hollywood film.
"Filmmakers here have offered me good roles. I am doing interesting films here, so why would I want to divert my attention there," she says.
Kareena, on a roll with ravishing roles in Farhan Akhtar's Don and Vishal Bhardwaj's Mr Mehta & Mrs Singh, is excited about doing her first literary adaptation, and that too Shakespeare. She is playing the character of Desdemona in Bharadwaj's Othello.
Says Kareena, "Desdemona is one of the most challenging characters ever written for an actress. Of course I'd love to do it, if all goes well."
