Rani Mukerji kick-started the promotions of her upcoming film 'Mardaani' on 5th August. The actress who had planned the entire visit has gone back to her homeland after 20 years. Jhansi is significant to Rani as she has a lot of memories of the place. Also, the city has a strong characteristic which is relevant to her character in the film. The actress received a very warm welcome from the people of Jhansi.

Rani also felicitated Pushpa Yadav, a woman sub-inspector of Jhansi, near the fort. Rani for the first time will be seen playing the role of a cop. 'Mardaani' is a very gripping and gritty film which will be touching the sensitive topic of Human Trafficking.
