Mr Justice A Kulasekaran fine directed Goud to pay the amount of Rs one lakh within three months to the Tamil Nadu Legal Services Authority.
The judge rejected the petition filed against Sridevi, pending before the Principal Judge, Family Court, seeking restitution of conjugal rights.
In his petition, Goud said he married Sridevi on March 15, 1992 at her residence in Chennai. After the marriage they lived together for three days. On March 18, 1992, he went to Addankivanipalam and returned the next day. However, Sridevi refused to live with him without citing any reasons.
He also filed a similar petition earlier which was dismissed as the dispute was settled mutually that Sridevi and he lived together as wife and husband from December 22, 1994 to January 17, 2003. On January 18, 2003, he went to his native place where he met an accident and stayed back. Despite his notice dated December 12 2003, Sridevi had not joined him. Hence, he filed the present petition in the family court.
The trial court issued notice to Sridevi on May 27, 2004. She filed the present revision petition praying to dismiss the said petition filed by Goud in the family court.
In her petition, Sridevi stated that the previous records showed that Goud had filed similar cases against Priyanka Gandhi and actress Jayaprada with an intention to gain cheap popularity. The alleged marriage, venue and the sequence of events were all false and imaginary and not on factual basis. She was not aware of Goud.
The trial court without application of mind issued notice to her mechanically. Goud filed vexatious petition admitting the cases filed by him against Priyanka Gandhi and Jayaprada. He also admitted that the case against one woman was dismissed by the Delhi Court and the court also punished him.
In his order, the judge said before the trial court a wedding invitation was filed in which Goud figured as the bridegroom. Under his name it was stated that he was the former husband of Jayaprada, a cine artiste.
The invitation was shabby, substandard, strange, unusual and the way in which he was projected as former husband of Jayaprada disclosed his ulterior motive. The invitation was not trustworthy at all. Hence, this court was of the view that the alleged marriage between him and Sridevi was not at all proved, the judge added.
