Post marriage, it is often seen that actresses in Bollywood slow down their work but that does not seem to be the case with Rani, who is seen playing role of a tough cop Shivani Roy in her latest release 'Mardaani'.
"It is said that the first year of marriage is honeymoon period. But my honeymoon started with promotions of 'Mardaani'. I have got a supportive husband, I don't think he (Aditya) will ever want me to slow down, until and unless, I decide," Rani told PTI. The 36-year-old actress says her marriage will never be a hindrance in work and that she will wait for the right scripts.
"I can never stop work.. may be I can take a break. But I will keep waiting for good script," she said. Rani and Aditya secretly got married in Italy in April this year. The 'Black' actress said women often slow down their work due to pregnancy. "I think women tend to slow down in their careers when they get pregnant. In the West, there are so many actresses who work during pregnancy.
Here, if there is a director who wants to work with me, while I am pregnant, then why not," she said. On contemporary films, which mostly includes intimate or kissing scenes and actor, actresses often put diktats when it comes to doing such scenes post marriage, Rani says, she has no problems doing it, if she is comfortable with it.
"My husband is a director and producer himself and he knows what exactly goes into film making. If he feels it is correct for the script and if I am comfortable, then it's fine. He is very busy and has no time to sit with me on script and tell me what to do and what not," she said. Though Rani does not seem to have given a nod for her next film. But she has made it clear that her next film will not be with Yash Raj Films.
