Emran Hashmi-starrer Raja Natwarlal has had a decent start at the box office. Exhibitor Rajesh Thadani says, `The film collected about R14 crore in its opening weekend. There was no buzz about the film, and this resulted in low numbers. Even the promos and the film's music seem to have not connected with the audiences.''
l Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, `The film opened to average response on Friday. The collections fell on Saturday and on Sunday, it did well but it wasn't a major jump in its collections. It looks as though audiences are yet to warm up to the film.`
Rani Mukherji's Mardaani, on the other hand, has collected around R30 crore until now. Thadani says, `The film has been declared tax free and this will benefit the film.`
However, exhibitors feel that collections have taken a dip of late. Vishal Anand of Fun Cinemas says, `It was the poorest weekend for us in the last two months. We are hoping things will pick up soon.` Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn-starrer, Singham Returns, has collected around R140 crore so far.
