Acclaimed director Rituparno Ghosh has signed Vidya Balan for his latest work 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam'.

Like Vidya's debut film Parineeta , 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam' is a literary piece of work that had been conceptualized in the 1960s.

In the 60s the film with similar title was made with the acting strengths of stalwarts Meena Kumari, Waheeda Rahman , Guru Dutt and Rehman.

Vidya is expected to play the character that Waheeda Rahman played in the 60s classic.

Not just that, Vidya is entitled to play a significant role in Rituparno's venture too.

It will be made by Pritish Nandy Communications and is expected to release by the end of next year. With 'Sahib Bibi Aur Ghulam' and the forthcoming Eklavya , Vidya is out to prove that she has got enough skills in her kitty and she is not a one film wonder.
