There was a time when issue-based and realistic films were labelled as art films with little commercial value at the box-office. But times have changed.

Thanks to the increasing audience acceptance for such films, filmmakers like Ammtoje Maan have now become crusaders for a cause with their thought-provoking issue-based films.

Maan is now in the process of completing his film, "Kaafila", a Rs.200 million magnum opus with Sunny Deol and Pakistani actresses Sana and Monalisa.

Sunny is reportedly taken up with the subject of the film, which revolves around problems faced by illegal migrants. The film has been shot in the breathtaking locales of Bulgaria, Manali and Ladakh and has a lilting musical score by Sukhwinder Singh.

Maan's last film "Hawaayein" was not only critically acclaimed but also raked in the moolah for the filmmaker.
