Actress Sanjeeda Sheikh, seen as aggressive Durga in her show "Ek Hasina Thi", is travelling to Kolkata Thursday to enjoy the merriment of Durga Puja festival.

"Ek Hasina Thi" story is set in Kolkata and her visit is being organised on public demand.

"Kolkata is a very beautiful city and I have heard that it gets completely transformed during Durga Puja. I am very happy that my fans have accepted 'Ek Hasina Thi' and my character Durga Thakur so warmly.

"Such encouragement from fans really inspires us and drives us actors to perform well and never disappoint them," said Sanjeeda in a statement. The actress will visit Victoria Memorial, Kalighat Kali Temple and Marble Palace during her one-day trip. Sanjeeda also plans to gorge on Kolkata's famous puchkas and momos.

The weekly show is aired on Star Plus at 8 p.m.
