Kangana Ranaut is part of Rensil D'silva's upcoming film, 'Ungli', which is expected to release next month. The actress is even seen in the film's first trailer, which was released last week, but she has no dialogue in it. In fact, no one seems to know what exactly she will be doing in the film, especially because it also stars Neha Dhupia and Shraddha Kapoor, as well as Sunny Leone in a promotional item number.
A source says, "Finally, 'Ungli' has got a release date, but the multi-starrer, which has Emraan Hashmi and Randeep Hooda headlining the male cast, doesn't have Kangna doing a major role. It is supposed to be a male-dominated film. It is just part of their marketing strategy to put Kangna on the film's poster."
Interestingly, Shraddha, who just has an item number in the film, is part of the new promo and on Thursday, Sunny Leone finished shooting for a promotional song with Emraan Hashmi. "Sunny and Emraan's song is the film's title track and it will be used purely for publicity. Meanwhile, model-turned-actress Rachel White has been cast opposite Emraan in the film. Kangna doesn't have a major role."
Ironically, even as the 'Queen' actress takes up your attention in the film's poster, Neha Dhupia - who plays a TV journalist in the film - has not been featured in the same, as reported in yesterday's edition of hitlist (October 3).
"Since Kangna's role in this film is not really a big one, she is not quite aware of its publicity campaign. Currently, she is in London for some work and thanks to her packed schedule, it looks like she won't be able to actively participate in the film's promotions. She certainly won't be doing any item numbers as she doesn't endorse the concept in the first place," says a source close to the actress. Kangna remained unavailable for comment.
