India's largest private sector bank, ICICI Bank today signed Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan as its global brand ambassador.

Announcing this, the bank said it felt that Shah Rukh Khan was truly global Indian who embodied the Indian winning spirit.

"We are proud to have Shah Rukh Khan as our global brand ambassador. Having established our leadership in the retail business over the last five years, the bank is now poised to scale new heights in the global arena," managing director and CEO, K V Kamath, said in a release here.

ICICI Bank has established its presence in 12 countries including the UK, Canada, the US and the Middle East.

Shahrukh's image and popularity with the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) segment will further reinforce ICICI Bank's global identity, the release said.
