They say everything is fair in love (and war) and probably that's why we keep getting inundated with all sorts of love songs. Some brilliant, some atrocious. But love never seems to go out of style. So here we are back again with a compilation of various love songs, simply titled Mohabbat, rendered by the likes of Adnan Sami, Pankaj Udhas, Jagjit Singh, Ustad Sultan Khan, Alka Yagnik and Shubha Mudgal.
The album begins with the ever-popular Adnan Sami-Asha Bhosle hit track Kabhi To Nazar Milao. Next we have Ustad Sultan Khan and Chitra belting out Piya Basanti, another popular and huge hit in terms of sales.
We have another song by Chitra, this time a duet with Bhupinder Aasmani Rang Hai Aasmani Aankh Hai. This track is from her album Sunset Point, the touching lyrics of which have been penned by Gulzar.
Following this we have the Jagjit Singh-Alka Yagnik duet Kiska Chehra Ab Main Dekhoon Tera Chehra Dekhkar. An ok song. Shubha Mudgal's sensual Seekho Na Nainon Ki Bhaasha Piya (from her Ab Ke Sawan album) takes one to an altogether new level of emotions.
Next we have a poignant Jagjit-Chitra track Hum Tum The Ajnabi. We have another track by Chitra and Bhupinder on this side too, this time a peppy love song Aa Chal Doobke Dekhe Next we have a Pankaj Udhas-Alka Yagnik duet Teri Aashiqui. Alka sounds good. And lastly we have Ustad Sultan Khan's Surmayi Aankhen.
A good buy for all those currently in love or aspiring to be.
