He may not have his way this Christmas but Santa has granted Ranbir Kapoor's wish for a festive release next year.
Producer Sajid Nadiadwala has blocked 2015 X-mas for the Ranbir-starrer, 'Tamasha', directed by Imtiaz Ali. It will be pitted against Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani' starring Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra.
'Bombay Velvet', which is one of the actor's most ambitious projects, was to hit the big screen on December 25 this year. However, it was advanced to November to avoid a clash with Aamir Khan's 'pk', only to be postponed to May 2015 as the post production is believed to be taking time. But with Sajid Nadiadwala deciding to release the film next Christmas, the actor will get a festive release for the first time. Of all his films so far, only Besharam released on a special occasion - Gandhi Jayanti - on October 2 last year.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has also chosen to release his dream project on Christmas 2015. The film will have lead actor, Ranveer Singh sporting a bald look.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh said, "There is still a lot of time for the dates to be changed but I feel two big films releasing on the same day, whether it is on a festival or an ordinary day, is not a good trend. The business and audience of both films get divided."
