With Jaya Bachchan publicly slamming 'Happy New Year' that starred her son, Abhishek Bachchan, we take a look at other B-Town stars who have faced flak from their family

Actress-politician Jaya Bachchan made headlines when she termed Farah Khan's Happy New Year featuring her son, Abhishek as 'the most nonsensical film'. hitlist focuses on some film stars whose on-screen exploits were met with damning criticism from their respective family members.

In as many words
It was reported that Sharmila Tagore did not appreciate the fact that her son, Saif Ali Khan had used a lot of cuss words in Raj and DK's zombie comedy, 'Go Goa Gone'. The actor who played the role of a Russian drug mafia don in the film used several expletives in Hindi and Russian. Saif was quoted as saying, "My mother thinks it is (bad words) not the best idea, she is concerned about the language. My wife Kareena is supportive and is quite happy with the look of the film." The actor also joked about how he feared that the film would run into problems with the Censor Board.

The name changer
During the post-production of 'Jai Ho', which was earlier titled 'Mental', there were stories of how the khandaan was divided over the film's name. Salim Khan did not like the title and conveyed his displeasure to Salman. The actor, who is known to be quite devoted to his dad, changed it to 'Jai Ho'.

Give and take
Farah Khan had spoken about being nervous before the release of her brother, Sajid Khan's disastrous film, 'Humshakals', which was panned by one and all. Later, she even did a spoof on him in 'Happy New Year'. The brother-sister jodi is quite protective of each other but have an equally good sense of humour. So, when Farah spoofed him, he was quite a sport and played along.

Twin attack
One of hottest young stars of today, Alia Bhatt faced a lot of criticism when she performed at the Saifai Mahotsav in Uttar Pradesh. The participation of celebrities in the state-sponsored event was widely criticised as the UP government was reportedly ignoring Muzaffarnagar riot victims while spending lavishly on the starry event. When Mahesh Bhatt was questioned about the same, the doting dad said that he was sorry for not restraining Alia from being a part of the show. He said that being a well-aware person, he should have warned her. However, elder sister Pooja was seemingly more critical. She tweeted, "To my baby sister Alia all I would say is read the papers more and do not let managers and agents decide your future. Immediate or otherwise.

The media will do what the media needs to do. We need to do what we MUST do. That is why we live our dreams. While they 'report' our dreams. Actually Alia should not read the papers more. Most of them are full of lies. Immerse yourself in life more. Bollywood is work. Not existence."

Everyone's sorry
Rishi Kapoor has been defensive of his son, Ranbir on many occasions, including the time when Kapoor Jr was termed as a Casanova. However, when he was questioned about Ranbir doing Abhinav Kashyap's 'Besharam', he said, "It was bloody disappointing. Neetu, Ranbir and I are all sorry we did that film. When Abhinav approached us, I thought it would be an entertaining film but it went terribly wrong. He was over confident, still high on the success of 'Dabangg'.

However if he comes up with a better script, may be I'll work with him again." Now, that was quite an apology.

On her own
When Tanishaa Mukerji took part in a controversial reality show, the grapevine was abuzz with stories of how mum Tanuja and sister Kajol disapproved of her decision to be a part of it.

The gossip reached a crescendo when Tanishaa and Armaan Kohli struck up a 'special friendship' on the show. Gossip mongers had a field day spreading stories of how Kajol had requested hubby, Ajay Devgn to intervene and somehow get Tanishaa out of the show.

However, on her eviction, Tanishaa refuted the stories and said her mom was truly supportive of whatever she did, including her affair with Armaan.
