"This award from my home state is like a family's love and appreciation of my work. It will count amongst the most memorable moments of my life," he exults.
Yadav shot into the limelight with Jungle and proved his versatility in films like Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon, Hungama, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Paheli.
Despite his maga success, he remains humble: "I'm a common man who has seen life in all its forms, and I wish to continue living like this." Forget starry airs, he doesn't even consider himself a mature actor. "I want to remain a student."
Back in Bollywood, new and exciting offers are pouring in for Rajpal as well.
He will play the role of Bhopali in Ram Gopal Varma Ki Sholay the one played by comedian Jagdeep in the original. Varma has signed him for 'Go' as well. But the biggest surprise to Yadav was when he received offers to do item numbers after doing one in D.
"The song was deleted from the final version. But I got so many offers to do item numbers. I turned them down. I agreed to do an item number in D because it was a Varma film. I think item numbers are useless, unless they are a part of the storyline and are character-based. I like the way Varma experiments with roles. I will do anything for the director," he says.
