There are men who can be versatile with their looks and then there are those who cannot afford that privilege. As men around the globe abandon their razors for Movember - a portmonteau of moustache and November - for an international men's health awareness movement originating in Melbourne, hitlist shines the light on some of Bollywood's leading men who flaunt their fuzz in style...
Aamir Khan
Mostly seen in a clean-shaven avatar, the actor surprised us with his recent appearance at the city airport. Clad in a brown jacket and rather dowdy pair of trousers, Aamir carried off his beard with great panache. The last time we saw so much fuzz on his face was, perhaps, in 2005 when he came up with a mouche' whoosh while doing Mangal Pandey.
Abhishek Bachchan
In some of his earlier films, Junior B sported a clean-shaven look. But it's the bearded look that lent his characters a certain gravitas. The beard has now become synonymous with his appearance and boy, has he grown up or what!
Ranveer Singh
He is hailed as Bollywood's poster boy where making fashion statements is concerned. Not one to shy away from experimenting with his looks, Ranveer looked indisputably hot in last year's film, Goliyon Ki Rasleela: Ram-Leela. While his long locks did help, we have to admit that his lush moustache and beard also did the trick.
Shahid Kapoor
He has proved his mettle with his recent celluloid outings and even where his looks are concerned, Shahid has broken out of the chocolate boy mould. The bearded look he wore for his latest film, Haider, was definitely a welcome change.
Sidharth Malhotra
It's hardly surprising that this Delhi boy has a body to die for - he did start out with a stint in modelling before Karan Johar gave him the big break in Student of the Year. But it's interesting that he seems to be able to work both looks - with and without beard. While his clean-shaven look - that he has sported in all his films so far - has been received well, his stubble, in which he was seen at a recent film screening, too, has won him a fan following.
Saif Ali Khan
He started his career with a clean-shaven look, but didn't really find success in that avatar. His bearded appearance, however, has been received very well. Not only has it added to his sex appeal, but it has also his personality and charm.
Arjun Rampal
Rampal, too, belongs to a breed that doesn't need to change its looks to send its female fans' heartbeats racing. But couple his bearded face with his serious expressions and it will be easier for you to choose between with and without beard.
John Abraham
He has been sporting a beard for so long that it's difficult to imagine him clean-shaven. Not that we are complaining, mind you. His stubble does complement his biker boy image.
Ali Fazal
As a young turk, Ali Fazal is raring to go. And while he is yet to taste commercial success as a solo lead, his female fan following is lapping up the stubble. Keep it on, we'd say.
Farhan Akhtar
He can direct, act and sing. The multi-talented Farhan Akhtar has a lot working for him already and his looks certainly can't do any harm. If anything, the stubble is only upping his desirability quotient. If you are looking for a rock star, he is your man, long locks, beard, et al.
Hrithik Roshan
Hrithik's sizzle factor is not a thing to be questioned. But the jury's still out on what makes him look dishier - is it the clean-shaven look or his beard? We are putting our money on the beard. After all, with a stubble-sporting Hrithik in the frame, is it even possible to look at anything else?
Drool dude
His latest film, Kick, may have broken all records, but we can't say that we loved Salman Khan's bearded outing in the film. Purists that we are, we prefer a clean-shaven and shirtless Salman.
