Filmmaker Ashutosh Gowariker says television ratings are important but he can't take advantage of it for "Everest" as he has already shot all the episodes of the TV show.

Unlike films, the makers get scope to change the story line on TV depending on the ratings.

"Television rating is important because you get to know how many people watch your film. We can't make use of it (high ratings) for 'Everest' as we have already shot the entire episodes. We can't take advantage of it but it's important," said Gowariker who has produced the show.

Meanwhile Gowariker is also happy with the response to his TV show.

"Response has been great so far. We have tried to keep it as interesting as possible. I feel when you want to improve yourself, there is no end to that. So my idea is work as much as you can before release after that it's not in your hands. I am glad that it has done well so far," he said.

The show airs on Star Plus.
