Jackie Shroff had to turn down the chance of playing Amrish Puri's role in the remake of 'Hero', the film that launched him

Jackie Shroff, who was offered a role in the remake of his 1983-film 'Hero', had to apparently turn it down due to date issues. Nikhil Advani's film has newcomers Athiya Shetty and Sooraj Panscholi essaying the lead roles.

A source says, "Jackie was approached to play the role of Pasha, the villainous role that Amrish Puri played in the film. Jackie is shooting for Karan Malhotra's Warrior and Nikhil wanted the same dates as he wanted to wrap up the film."


Adds the source, "When Jackie met Nikhil he had also asked him to re-work the role." Jackie says, "I was approached, but things didn't work out because of date issues. My friend's kids are in the film and I wish them all the best."
