If the latest buzz is to be believed, actress-turned-filmmaker Divya Khosla Kumar's untitled project has run into a hurdle. Sources said she had approached Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam to be cast as the lead pair but after doing a few workshops, the actress has opted out of the film.
She is not the first actress to have turned down the film, a source says, adding, "Shruti Hassan was the first actress to be approached for the lead role but she refused. Then the casting team was in talks with Aditi Rao Hydari but she too wasn't keen to do the film. A couple of months ago, Yami Gautam was finalised and was supposed to sign the contract. We wonder why also chose to opt out of the project."
The makers are now believed to be scouting for a fresh face for the film, which will be Divya's second film after her debut dud, 'Yaariyaan'.
Divya denies the buzz about being on an elusive actress trail. "I have never met Aditi or Shruti. Nor have I offered them a role in my film," she says. The spokespersons for Yami and Aditi also dismissed the rumours of the actresses having been approached for the film.
