Rituparno Ghosh is a busy man these days. The Bong director is in Mumbai and has teamed up with
Pritish Nandy Communications to do some meaningful films, which is PNC's forte.
His professional relationship with PNC began with the under-contemplation remake of ‘Sahib Bibi aur
Ghulam'. And now PNC is also producing his Bengali thriller Khela too.
But PNC is not the only exciting addition to his portfolio.
For his much cherished English Project Draupadi Rituparno has finalised Bipasha Basu for the
character of Draupadi.
Says ecstatic Rituparno, "I wanted my Draupadi to be dark and attractive. Not a sex symbol, but she had to possess the
oomph factor. I could see all these qualities in Bipasha.
"My Draupadi will be more real and it will be
my interpretation from a filmmaker's perspective. The story of Mahabharat is known to everyone, but I
have a specific vision in my mind which I wanted to convey through my film."
Bipasha, however, refuses to give out any details about her upcoming project till the deal is officially signed.
"Ritu and I have discussed the role and I've shown my interest in it too but I don't want to give out anymore details. It is an ambitious and complicated film. Once he is through and I sign on the dotted line, only then I will be in a position to talk about Draupadi." says Bipasha.
Ghosh is yet to finalise actors for the role of Krishna and Vyas.
