According to Celebrity Endorsement data from TAM AdEX, the advertising monitoring unit of TAM, Deepika emerged as the top celebrity, garnering a 5.2 per cent share of the ad volume between January and September this year.
Deepika has a whole of 16 brands in her kitty.
Brands are keen to sign on Deepika as the ambassador as they feel she has high impact and connect with her wide appeal.
Anirban Das Blah, CEO and MD of CAA-Kwan, an entertainment and talent management firm, said that Padukone is a talented actor and has emerged as a youth icon. "It's not just about the number of brands that she is endorsing, but also the fact that she is the top actress associated with the best of brands that are making significant marketing spends," he added.
Prabhat Choudhary, Head of film marketing firm Spice, said that Padukone not only is a talented actress, but is also an avid sports enthusiast, thus becoming a role model for young girls.
Some of the brands that she endorses include Nescafe, Asian Paints, Tissot, Kellogg's ,Axis Bank , Coca-Cola , HP and Parachute among others.
