The former India captain married Naureen in 1987. During their nine-year marriage they became parents to sons, Asad and Ayaz. They divorced in '96 and soon after, Azhar married actress Sangeeta Bijlani. Ayaz died in an biking accident in 2011 at the age of 19. Prachi insists that she's nothing like Naureen but is keen to play a woman who was never in the limelight despite the fact that her husband was a cricketing star. "This is the second time I will be playing a Muslim woman and put a face to a young and innocent character who has never been spoken about," she says, admitting that while Emraan has already started working on his look, hers is yet to be finalised.
The actress, who was also seen in an item number in Ekta Kapoor's 'Ek Villain', is not a cricket buff. "I had not followed Azharuddin's cricket or political career until I was approached for the biopic. I have read the script and will be meeting Naureen soon," says Prachi.
Buzz is, Kareena Kapoor will play Sangeeta. Prachi insists that apart from Emraan, no one has been signed yet."Kareena would make a sizzling Bijli," asserts Prachi. "Given a choice I'd have loved to play Sangeeta who is a more exciting character," says the actress who has not been approached for 'Rock On 2' but has signed two other films.
