As expected, after having a successful run at the domestic BO for almost a week this Aamir starrer swipe on conservative religious practices has finally landed in the shooting range of saffron brigade, who are alleging that the movie up-till great extent hurts the religious sentiments of Hindus.
And if recent reports coming from the home state of PM Narendra Modi are to be believed then they suggest that, some of the alleged Bajrang Dal activists who were demanding a ban on the movie have vandalized two prominent theaters of Ahemdabad.
As per reports almost 20 members of the right wing organization led by city unit chief Jwalit Mehta, targeted City Gold and Shiv cineplexes on the Ashram road, smashed the ticket windows and fled from the spot before the arrival of the cops.
While confirming the incident Deputy Commissioner of Police Virendrasinh Yadav stated that,"search for the miscreants is on, and in order to reach the collars of the rowdy elements, they are in process of collecting the CCTV footage.
However, Bajrang Dal has taken up the ownership of the attack and have also warned other theater owners to shirk away from screening 'PK'.
In a publicly made statement Bajrang Dal unit chief Jwalit Mehta stated that,"Around 15 to 20 of our members today went to these theaters, which are screening Aamir's film 'PK'. I am warning other theaters to stop the screening, otherwise we will intensify our protest in the city in the coming days".
Raising the doubts about the intent of the makers and Aamir Khan, Mehta further added that, "If his intention was right, then why the movie did not showcase anything about his own religion? Yesterday, I called majority of theater owners and asked them to stop the screening. But they indirectly refused".
Adding an extension to the allegations of Mehta another top brass of Bajrang Dal, Dharmendra Asoliya added that, ""The romantic track between Anushka Sharma (shown as an Indian girl) and Sushant Singh Rajput (a Pakistani boy) is also being seen as promoting love jihad".
It's not that PK is witnessing this opposition in Gujrat only, even several protests were also held in Bhopal too.
This much awaited cine chronicle of Aamir released on December 19th and ever-since then it has kept the cash registers ringing. But after seeing this recent uproar circumscribing 'PK' one thing looks quit conspicuous that besides charming the fans the movie has put some of the jobless moral cops on the job.
