The actress and her co-star, Karan Singh Grover, were asked to head back home as their event was called off at the last minute

On Sunday evening, Bipasha Basu and Karan Singh Grover were supposed to turn up at a Ghatkopar mall for the promotions of their upcoming film, Alone. However, they were halfway to the venue when they were asked to steer their vehicle back with security issues at the mall and on the road leading to cancellation of the event.

Besides traffic snarls late evening, there were many religious processions in the area and the organisers felt it would be unsafe to host a public event there.

Says a source, "When they planned the promotion, they did not foresee it would coincide with the procession day. They had a team of bouncers, but the mall authorities felt it would be difficult to manage the crowd and asked them to cancel the show. The police also requested them to call it off."


Bipasha and Karan were travelling in the same car and immediately did a U-turn. The film's publicist confirmed the reports.

Rice and shine
Bipasha has asked for a day off from Alone's promotions on her birthday tomorrow. It is well known that it is the only day of the year when she has rice. Says Bips, "My day will begin with rice kheer for breakfast specially prepared by my mother (Mamta). Then I will have different types of biryani for lunch and dinner."
