Irrfan, who has been suffering from a chronic backache for a long time now, recently underwent a minor surgery. The actor has now been advised complete bed rest for a couple of days.
The shoot of the actor's upcoming film 'Jazbaa' has also been postponed and will commence when he is fit. However, the script reading session shall take place in a day or two. Apparently, the other actors in the film - Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Shabana Azmi and Anupam Kher - were scheduled to meet for a script-reading session on January 9 but will now meet on January 13 at a suburban hotel in the city due to Irrfan's ill health.
A source close to the development says, "We could have gone ahead with the reading session on Friday as planned, but will now meet on Tuesday so that Irrfan can also be a part of it."
Irrfan remained unavailable for comment while Jazbaa director Sanjay Gupta confirms the news, saying, "Yes, Irrfan has undergone a minor surgery and has been advised bed rest. His recovery is my priority and the shoot shall commence once he is fit. I can't say anything about the exact date of the shoot but the script reading will definitely take place on Tuesday."
