Film promotions will keep the actor from attending the Republic Day function in Delhi to be graced by the American President

If sources are to be believed, Amitabh Bachchan had been invited for the Republic Day parade in New Delhi that will have US President Barack Obama as the chief guest. But it looks like the superstar will have to give it a miss.

A source says, "He had initially agreed to be part of the January 26 celebrations, but now since he is expected to attend some promotional events for his upcoming film Shamitabh, he may not be able to fly to Delhi and meet the American President."

It is said that the promotional plan was drawn much after Sr Bachchan received the R-Day event invite and will not able to adjust his dates.

Another source says, "He has already started the promotions. Even though he will be in India on January 26, it will be practically impossible for him to fly in and out of town in a day."

The film's spokesperson confirms the news about Big B skipping the R-Day function.
