What probably made Sona express her joy is because of the history between the Big B and Shotgun. But as they say in Bollywood, there are no permanant enemies and friends. One-time buddies Bachchan and Sinha, who worked together in films like 'Kaala Patthar' (1979) and 'Dostana' (1980) had some difference of opinion over the years.
Things came to a head on when Big B did not invite Shotgun for son Abhishek's wedding in 2007. Later, when boxes of sweets were distributed to those who were not invited including Sinha, Shotgun is said to have returned the box saying: "Jab bulaaya nahin toh mithai kis baat ki?" Bachchan had apparently then said, "If they are offended because they weren't invited, then they weren't my friends in the first place."
In 2008, there were some verbal volleys between the two reported over an awards event of which Big B was the brand ambassador. But in 2010, the animosity ended at Shabana Azmi's 60th birthday bash where AB and Shotgun met like old pals. Last year, the Sinhas attended Bachchans' Diwali bash. The Bachchans returned the favour by attending Kush's wedding.
