Looks like the Indian cricket side swears by teamwork - even off the field. The latest buzz in the industry suggests that several faces from the current team will make guest appearances in the upcoming biopic on skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. The Neeraj Pandey-directed film features Sushant Singh Rajput as MSD.
A source says, "The aim is to highlight Dhoni's achievements as a cricketer and personal milestones too. For this, many Team India cricketers as well as those who have played with him at various stages of his professional career have been approached for special appearances in the film."
Another source close to the project confirms the buzz, saying talks are on with several players who are close to Dhoni. "Some international players will also be seen in the movie. We don't want to reveal names right now, but they are all players to reckon with," the source adds.
The shoot will kickstart soon at Dhoni's native place apart from schedules in Delhi, Mumbai, Australia, New Zealand and few other countries, says an insider. "Sushant is working hard to prep up for the role. In fact, Dhoni himself attended a few rehearsals and helped him perfect his style and demeanour," the insider states.
The director was unavailable for comment.
