An eye-witness in the hit-and-run case involving actor Salman Khan today failed to appear in the court
for the fourth time despite a non-bailable warrant issued against him.
Ravindra Patil was supposed to remain present in the court here as Salman's lawyer was to continue
with his cross-examination.
But Patil did not turn up, and the case was adjourned till March 16. The warrant against him also
continues, Salman's lawyer Deepesh Mehta said.
The court had issued non-bailable warrant against Patil on February 7 when he failed to turn up. Again
on February 10, he did not appear and the court re-issued the warrant by asking him to appear on
February 16. Even on that day, he failed to come to the court.
Salman Khan is charged with killing one person and injuring four by ramming his car into a bakery in
Bandra on September 28, 2002. Patil is an eye witness in the case as he was accompanying Salman
when the incident occurred.
He had also told the police that Salman was under the influence of liquor and had advised the actor
not to drive rashly or else he would meet with an accident.
