Directed by Abhishek Kapoor who directed Kai Po Che for the same studio, the film has a fresh pairing of Aditya Roy Kapur and Katrina Kaif. The film also stars Rekha in a pivotal role.
Fitoor is an adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic 'Great Expectations'. Aditya plays a artist in the film named Noor, Katrina plays Firdaus while Rekha will be seen as Begum.
