Karan Johar, who is known to be friends with most Bollywood folk, often goes out of his way to reinforce his bond with his celebrity pals. Not very long ago, it was reported that KJo did not take a single penny for Anurag Kashyap's 'Bombay Velvet'. Now he has gifted a song to Nikhil Advani, who has worked with him on a number of projects.
Says a source, "Nikhil is launching star kids Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in the remake of 'Hero' and had been looking for a song for the film. When Karan got to know about it, he gave him a song that he had kept for one of his films."
Around 10 months ago, lyricist Kumaar gave a few tracks to Karan. Of those, he liked a Punjabi number the most, but later decided to give it to Nikhil to use in his film.
The source adds that Salman Khan, who is producing 'Hero', has also liked the song and the lead pair will shoot for the video next month in Goa.
Kumaar confirms the buzz, saying, "Though Karan loved the Punjabi number, he happily gave it to Nikhil for Hero. It will be sung by Shipra Goyal and Dev Negi."
Both KJo and Nikhil were unavailable for comment.
